I'd think you'd be able to pay yourself really really well to do your own combining vs hiring it done for $45/acre.
Doing 10 acres/hr is $450/hr
Lots of used combines out there that can do 10 acres/hr and cost under $100/hr to run including repairs and depreciation.
What does it cost to harvest and cart (not haul) 250 bushel corn?
