Scott, don't know current rail rates but rumor has it that Keystone Commodity posted bids are competitive with rail corn in this area. Central PA also has it's share of whole field yields in the 50-70 range this year. Also, much more local corn was chopped for forage than normal this year. That should be setting the stage for basis increase ahead for the fortunate local corn farmers that have 2016 corn to park in on-farm bins. Rail basis will limit that local basis explosion, plenty of corn available within reasonable rail range as shown in attached 10/12/2016 corn basis map.
