My wife is a horse person who is tree bark tight with her money. We had a horse from 1991-2008 when he died. She would love another but the expense in our situation is more than it is worth. Now she is riding on occasion with a recently widowed neighbor--the best of all worlds.
That's the risk with some women: when they love their animals more than you.
