On the DJI GO app, look above the red button (the record/take photo button). There is a slider that changes camera mode to video mode. Make sure the slider is on video mode. Press the button directly above that, and in that menu he can change it to 1080p. Unless he is going to do some video editing in slow motion, make sure to record at 30 frames per second (fps)
