Behind the Great Wall, on the good side! | IF this big bean crop comes in and IF the market follows fundamentals lower and IF the funds decide to lessen their exposure to beans.... should one be selling Nov 17 soybeans along with the 16 crop? Doesn't seem the bean market likes to hold a lot of carry from one crop year to the next these days. I realize this could be a bad trade come August next year, but, sell them now and buy a call in the winter/spring after the 16 bean crop sits on the market and we all cry uncle. How many farmers are looking to add soybean acres next year? Maybe a little "insurance/coverage" sales are in order?
