Haven't run the numbers but I would suggest that they use the same pkg backing for 12 oz and 16 oz pkgs of Bacon. Who would ever expect someone to nitpick the label. Bacon is Bacon and printed numbers doesn't change the taste.

Well, that didn't work either. Unless you bought a 12 oz pkg of thick slice and the pkg describes a 16 oz of thin slice bacon.
