Michigan. | Ever since the USDA decided to let Californians import the Spotted wing Drosophila, we haven't had a skeeter problem at all, despite standing water everywhere.
Come late June, us fruit growers are protecting the fields every 7 days or less, following the USDA directives, to stay within FDA guidelines, and it's making the poor skeeters rare.
From April to mid June, I might get a bite or two until the Bees get pulled out, but the days of getting drained half a quart between the house and barn, are pretty much over. I'm waiting for the envirowonks to add skeeters to the endangered list.
