Subject: freshing strips with vert till tool

I am considering using my vert. til tool to freshen strips and incorporate spring applied urea. This would allow me to start stripping right behind the combine instead of waiting until the soil gets cold enough for fall NH3. I would go at an angle to the strips and make a very shallow pass. I use a Mcfarlane reel disk tool and a John Deere 2510 S stripper which makes a rather deep wide strip in the fall. Does anyone have an opinion or experience with this method. These newer strip fresheners are very similar to my mcfarlane except for the fact that my tool is full width tillage. Urea has become as cheap as NH3 in my area so I think the cost factor would not be a huge issue. CSP compliance might be but really I don"t bury any residue with this tool. Any thoughts?
