While your are pumping this fall, take some samples of your manure to get an idea of the actual fertilizer content. 1 sample after you have it agitated, or as you get about a third of it pumped. Then at about half way and again when just about finished. That way you have a place to start "guessing" next years supply. My manure managment plan calls for 17,500 gal per acre max on my soils and yield goals. I have no straw added with my sand lane under this plan. When I had wood shavings for bedding, 20,000 gal was used. This is not ideal as it gets the soil very sloppy and hard to get around because of the mud it made. 2 applications at 10,000 gal each worked better, but I needed it to dry in between and run off can be an issue.
