His question is a good one as it basically asked if the person would follow evidence or just believe in things.
Interesting that you think there are different types of atheists.
An atheist by definition is anyone who lacks a belief in any god.
Why do you think people would say they do not have any reason to think there is any god because of some thing that has happened to them?
I expect a person who is an atheist is that way because there is no evidence to show any gods exist and they want evidence before they accept something as true.
It is sort of the reverse of what Desk Jockey was pointing out where some people would keep believing in something even though it was possible to have irrefutable proof that the thing did not exist.
Similar to those who refuse to accept many things that science shows to be true just because the proven explanations go against the beliefs they have with no evidence to back up those beliefs . | |
