I tried grain with a tad of Urea in it about 15 years ago about this time of year when pastures were dry and sparse. About half of the cows didn't like it, some to the point of only grubbing on the pasture instead. Feed Intake was very poor.
I learned not to experiment with a 5 week supply of grain again.
