Not familiar with the 2240 injector pump ?

How many hours on tractor ?

Roosa Master pump ?

Do not be deceived that clearing the line has permanently cured the problem. If it was particles from the governor flex ring in the injection pump you are on borrowed time. Just be aware that they often say that when the flex ring goes to pieces you might get into a run away situation where the engine will run to self destruction.

Been down this road on a JD 2030 and on a 1845  Case skidloader with injection pumps. one had electric shut off the other manual cable. Both started the same way. Starving for fuel then they would die. Could restart but it would get worse and worse to the point of barely being able to start. Not sure how it would get to the point of runaway to destruction but a former JD head mechanic I trust said they nearly saw it happen.

Maybe you were lucky and just clearing the line, tank filter  was the cure just wanted you to be aware of what could be the real issue. If it pops up again you will know what to look for.
