Subject: RE: When You Get To Know A Fellow

Southern Ontario
Edgar A. Guest , known as "The Peoples' Poet" was a writer/poet in the Detroit Free Press (60 years employment at the Detroit Free Press)
He was also the father of a huge Detroit WJR radio personality from the 40's to 70's named Edgar A. "Bud" Guest.
I think the Jr. Guest hosted a radio show called Sunny Side of the Street.
I am too young to recall the show but remember sometimes WJR playing tapes of his old shows or hearing older family members speaking well of his show.
From hearing the odd recordings of his shows and now reading his father's poem...I would say Bud learned much from his father.
Thanks for the post.
