Class of 1999 here. Dan Hoge and Lee Denzer are top notch guys but they will make you earn your spot on the judging team. Not sure what your livestock background is but if you know how or can learn to judge sheep well you'll have an advantage. Good hog and cattle judges are dime a dozen at Black Hawk, sheep not so much.
It was a lot of fun when I was there, hopefully you find it as rewarding as I did. There's lots of good people around the area and if you can find the time to work some there are some really good hogs and cattle both purebred and commercial in that area as well as row crop. I was lucky enough to work with some really good people during my time there and it's served me well. | |
