Our new door has a more expensive opener but it doesn't need those sensors. It somehow can tell if it hits something and then goes back up. You can stand under door and when it comes down push on the door and it pops back up. We didn't think we needed it but he talk us into it and where very happy we don't have to play with those sensors anymore.
