southern MN | I think the concept that. A farm operation has to grow bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger to be successful is about the most damaging thing to all of ag and rural America.
Yea I know you can't farm on 40 acres, 8 cows, and a shack of 12 hogs anymore, we do keep up with the times. Farms are going to grow in size and young folk need to strike out and expand what they got.
But at some point, improving what you have would be much more rewarding both $$$ and between the ears if folks had a little sit down thought with themselves, instead of feeling like they were 'held back' because they can't just buy the rest of the county and hire 12 more steering wheel holders to run it all for them........
