| Bought a new to me 800 cyclo planter this spring. 7 row, 15 in 144 drum., cyclomitir 3
Out of the box 5 to 7 on the pressure guage. 90 to 120 on the seeds / rev (don't know rpm)
When I stop there are empty holes in the drum.
Changed the oil ,filter and o-ring ,press up to 8-10 seed 120 - 132.
Plumbed hyd to tractor (get the popcorn, that's a story for another time) press up to 15 seed/rev 137 to 144.
Finally getting population where I want it.
Planted about 1 ac and blew the fill lid gasket off. (12 on press) (4th of July weekend)
Had another seed hopper so I swapped them out .
Back in field ,planted about 1/2 ac and split the top. Back to shed and put on fiberglass patch, that lasted about 20 min.
Ground off and re-glassed and left overnite, blew that off in about 1/2 hour.
Swapped orig hopper back in ,put 3 ratchet straps on and ran 6-8 press to get finished.
Top flexes 1 to 2 inches
Plan to split the top and fiberglass on the inside, maybe reinforce with wood.
Has anyone done this? New top $588 so I have room to play.
Had 30 years in auto repair, 14 in my own shop, so I have heard all the "I never saw that before" stories.
Sorry for the length.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
