I would plan a day to do the Potholes/Falls/Dam route. Maybe go on up to Rocky Reach and see that. Neat drive out of Othello through the pothole country and the Frenchman hills. Mcnamon (sp?) Rd is the one out of Othello you want. Couple difficult ways to go north to Quincy/Soap lake and up the coulee.

I assume you meant to say "different" not "difficult". If driving west out of othello, Dodson, Adams, or Beverly Burke roads are going to be the ones to take north across I-90 to eventually get to Soap Lake to continue up to the dam. Those are all better routes for sightseeing than going from Othello through Moses Lake and up to Soap Lake. The road north of ML just isn't very interesting.

If taking a trip for pleasure, I would avoid the I-5 corridor on the west side. I was over Tuesday and the traffic is miserable. I averaged less than 10mph on I-5 in the middle of the afternoon. That's apparently pretty normal.
