Coldwater, Michigan | Jay,
I am a bit of a purist when it comes to Avanti's. I don't like the looks of the 4 door of Cafaro's time. Studebaker actually had a buck that had 4 door on one side and 2 door on the other. Cafaro was a realist in that he realized the Convertible Avanti needed to have more room behind the front seat in order to have room for the convertible top. That was a well received automobile, and it was where the 4 door got the room to be made as a 4 door. The 4 door just never got going. The international Avanti meets have had a couple 4 doors at the last few meets and they are nice cars, I just don't think they look like Avanti's should!
Steve's car that I show, while taking some design cues from the Avanti will never be an Avanti. It is a heck of a nice car that I would be proud to own, but it will never be an Avanti.
Thanks everyone!
