Subject: Replacement tracks-- Camoplast vs Continental

Berwick, IL
So we have a 2010 JD 8345RT. Needs new tracks. 18". I called one place and they preferred/recommended Continental tracks as they are one piece construction and have more lugs than camoplast. Part of that recommendation was due to the fact that we primarily use this tractor to plant, sidedress and grain cart. He said if tillage was primary use then he probably would lean back towards camoplast for deeper lugs. Called a 2nd place and he called two suppliers and then called me back and said that they both recommended camoplast over continental. Said that even though camoplast with 3 piece construction may be more susceptible to losing a guide block, the continental was more susceptible to slipping a wire or cord within the belt and then you could never keep it aligned properly. This is our first rodeo with replacing tracks. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations from their experiences?
