Subject: RE: Southern combine

Wallis, TX

Son saw a 'nice' 2188 on Tractor House a couple years back.  The paint shined like new, low hours (in the teens) and was reasonably priced.  We got in the truck, drove 90 miles to take a look before someone else bought it.  I hadn't even made it to the combine and son was walking back sayin' lets go it's junk.  I told him I wanted to look at it.  Well,,,,,, he was right.

The previous owner put all new side shields on the machine, then went and painted everything else, even the duct tape on the augers. (The machine had much worse rust than the one in the OP.) Looked good in the pics!  I couldn't believe the dealer traded for it, but,,,, hearin' now that they are $60 mil in the red on used equipment I can see why.
