Subject: Distance for a Drill to put seed into ground?

Southern MN
Have a JD 1690 CCS that we use to drill beans. Obviously because it's a drill it takes a longer distance to put the seed in the ground when compared to a planter. My question is how long of distance is acceptable for the drill to travel before the seed is spilled into the ground?

Tightened all chains to spec and replaced a few chain tension springs before drilling this year and it seems like the distance to plant was longer then past years. I usually drop the row units about 5-6 feet before I want the seed in the ground to make sure there are no gaps, but this year after doing it that way there was an additional 14 feet between where the main frame under the CCS started dropping seeds and where rows 1 and 32 would see the seed so I have gaps in all the ends where I drop the row units and start moving. Once I'm going everything works like it should. Seems like the main frame under the CCS planted at the same time, but every row outside of that would take an additional foot of travel before the seed would come out so rows 1 and 32 were the last ones to plant.

Fan was set at 25 and I put on new openers/firming wheels this spring. Seems like lowering the row units 5 feet before I want it to plant and then not seeing seed for an additional 14 feet (roughly 20 feet total) for the end row units is excessive even if it is a controlled spill. Is something worn out that I'm not seeing?
