Urbandale Ia, (but originally from SE IA) | I agree with others about not being afraid to plant carryover seed. I used to have a big old deep freeze in the shop (unplugged) that sealed up tight and I'd keep carryover seed in there. (along with my welding rods that I wanted to protect from humidity)
Rodent proof too, lol...
But back in the day before stacked traits, I'd end up with a mixture of partial bags of conventional, LL, RR, etc, etc. But, sometimes bag tags would get torn off or I wasn't even sure we'd put it back in the same bag it came in when we cleaned out the planter. So I was kind of leery and hesitant about possibly using the wrong stuff in the wrong place. Sooner or later had to make room and discard stuff that I obviously would never use. I was burning a big brush pile and tossed it in the fire and got rid of it that way. |
