I don't know where you're from but here we are 1.5 mat and less. I have nothing to gain by bashing liberty. That said I absolutely believe you're giving up significant yield here. The true genetic selection among liberty beans is extremely limited in short maturities. I've heard rumors of as few as 5 truly different varieties under 1.5.

last year I had 3 quarters out of one section in rr2's. A friend and neighbor had LL beans pretty much surrounding me. His looked better all year and were significantly cleaner. Mine averaged 52 over those 3 quarters with 3 different varieties. Mine had alot of weed patches that made the combine monitor dip to as low as 30bpa.

His were pretty much spotless and ran in the mid to low 40's. It's certainly not a scientific plot but we're talking 1000's of acres of extremely consistent soils. If mine were cleaner the difference would have been significantly more.
