Do the JD closer wheels still have the sharp beveled edge on the outside or are they worn round. Worn round wheels will not crumble the trench wall, just drag it full of dry field trash. I agree on the Exapta / Thompson wheels, they are light enough to return to the ground quickly after a bump, they do a good job of crumbling the trench wall and bearing life is exceptionally good with them.
