All are good options. I will say though, you will have better luck with the "spread and forget it" option if you are immediately following the combine. The seed reaches the ground much better when the residue is still fluffy before the first rain on it.

I have only done the "spread and forget" via fertilzer spreader or airplane. I have not drilled or done any incorporating. This fall I will be using a 15" planter on atleast a portion of my acres with rye.
