Subject: RE: Great Plains planter

Eastern ontario
have had one since 1999. heaviest planter i could find for no-till. first one used two cylinders per side to fold up and had some flaws. when the stop system snapped got rid of it. the one we have now uses a cylinder underneath and an arm on the upright for folding. no problems. uses a finger pickup and when we added precision stuff the parts we used were for a 7200. opener blades use a larger bolt, just got new ones last year from shoup. seed hoppers are narrower and do crack as they get older. only available from great plains. very solid planter.
