Helland, I am assuming you are a believer.  If you are not, just believe that what the Bible says about Jesus is true and you will be one!  (Yes, it is that simple!)  And one of the many great promises God makes to believers is found in the book of Romans:

Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.

When overwhelmed with major "problems" or trials like you are experiencing, recalling this promise doesn't make everything hunky-dory. But it does add an (eternal) perspective that makes it easier to keep putting "one foot in front of the other" as others have said.
