We only do 40 or so head a year, but as a 1 to 1.5 man operation a calf table makes it easier on me & the calves. I like doing castration leaning over, with the calf's legs restrained, instead of looking up from behind & dodging hooves.
I thought I couldn't justify the cost but after having one, now I'm sure I can.
Besides, it is an investment in good property for the widow's sale...<g>
