| I'm going to state the obvious even though it's a little late at this point but why did you agree to buy him without passing a semen test first? To me that's rule #1 in buying a bull is to pass a BSE before you take possession. Two failed semen tests in a row I would definitely be asking for a refund, especially with the recommendation of 2 vets to do so. It's not uncommon for a virgin bull to have some dead sperm on 1st test because he's not active yet but 2 failed tests within 2 weeks apart definitely is a concern. Open cows are going to cost you more than more than a better bull will. As far as busting in with your cows, the more space you can put between them the better. Especially virgin yearling bulls can get a little more excited and want to find ways to get into action. | |
