north-central Indiana west of Fulton | Very light rain currently after a good day planting yesterday. Was thinking we would miss this! Dried out enough to plant both corn and beans yesterday finally, after over 2 weeks delay. I was finishing a 45 acre field of no till soybeans just before I needed lights last night. My nephew had moved in across the ditch in a small field of same farm that was my grandpa's , and he finished at the same time. Grandpa gave $25 an acre for this 60 acres in the 40's. Probably hadn't been farmed and had the C & O RR cut it on a 45 degree angle. We cleared the RR in late 90's after it was abandoned in the 80's. Lots of work has been done over they years to make this a nice little farm now . Grandpa has been gone for 46 years now.....he would be shocked.
