I just have an old Deere 250 but if I plant very slowly, I get an accurate count. Try planting for a short while at 3 or 4 mph and see if the count goes up. I will quite often read 120000 or less while actually planting 140000 at 5 mph. If I drop the speed, I'll get the correct numbers.
