Subject: RE: Too much dirt getting in seed trench

silverluv75 - 5/4/2016 21:12 Running a 8524 white planter and seems like I get way too much dry dirt in the seed trench before the seed is dropped. Planter is level. Parallel arms are slanted back towards the row unit a little bit. Not perfectly level but are lower than the front. Worked with field cultivator. Plenty of moisture in ground top is a little sugary. Is there something I am missing? Had run an old 7000 John Deere for years and never really had this much trouble. Ran this planter for 4 years now so I know its not just this year. Thanks

Are the seed-tube guards full width?

The White planters have a little more trouble with sidewall blowout than the Deeres because the White has the gauge wheel tilted away from the blade a bit at the top.  Makes it behave a little like the RID guage tires, even if it has standard guage tires on it.
