waterloo iowa | There are still 1500-2000 working from the area behind the museum and west to the foundry.They tore all but 2 of the high rise buildings down and gave those 2 to the city. If the developer doesn't go broke or run off with the money one of the 6 story buildings is supposed to become a high class motel. Most of the transmissions are built downtown and shipped to the Donald Street site. Rath closed in the early 80s,,basically they sucked the money out and never updated anything until it was too late. I always wondered what that church looked like from the inside,it is one of those things where a nice building was neglected too long | |
