Any spring cereal would be an acceptable choice for winter kill in front of beans - Barley, Oats, Triticale.
Winter Triticale is supposed to not have carryover issues like cereal rye, so it would be an option for winter hardy cereal in front of Beans.
Buckwheat is another option if the timing is right to avoid seed production. Any frost will knock it out quick.
Millet might be another option if the seed is cheap enough. (deeper roots than spring cereals) Think proso or pearl millet, not foxtail or browntop.
