David what brand did you plant? I planted some home grown popcorn probably 30+ years ago. I have no idea brand it was anymore but it was great. It was like yours it popped great with good flavor. I do remember it was a yellow variety and it had what I thought were long ears. I had enough for two years eating for ourselfs plus I gave a lot away to neighbors and friends. The next time I tried planting some it was a flop and I've never tried it again.

I wouldn't mind try planting some on a much smaller scale then I did back then mainly to show the grandkids how popcorn is grown starting from them helping me plant it, harvest it, shelling it off the cob after it's dried enough to pop and then popping and eating it.
