Nebraska | I have one 80 acre farm that was dryland and going to be corn on corn, but planned on putting on all Nitrogen sidedress. Locally new crop bean are $8.51 for fall delivery and corn is $3.23 fall delivery as this town has to go to town as we don't have storage for it. That puts the bean:corn ratio at 2.63 which tells you to plant beans. Will keep a close eye on this the next couple weeks and if I could lock in fall beans for close to $8.75 this farm will go to beans. I know it's not a lot of acres, but this is a scenario which was planned out but have the ability to change to make money. (or not lose as much) | |
