ne nebraska
I have a 1995 8100 with the 7.6. Also have the 7.6 in my 9600. I can't complain about the motor at all. I just put a 30% chip on the 8100 to pull a turbo till and it sure seems to handle it nicely. One big difference in your later and early model 8300 will be the transmission shifting. I just got used to mine shifting rough in certain gears that I am fine with an earlier model. If I had to guess on price, I am gonna say 65k for the 96 and 75k for the 99.
