We have the 2 piece K- tine shanks on our Krause 4200 field cultivators and they stand up good in our hard clay ground and we also have rocks . They do not wear out and get sloppy like spring loaded shanks. They handle trash  pretty good also. We had a older one with the one piece shanks and we bent them . Krause replaced them with the 2 piece ones and we do not bend them.
