Adams, NE | Ethanol is not a replacement for RBOB or vice versa. You need ethanol to blend with RBOB to sell finished gasoline. Reformulated Blendstock for OXYGENATE Blending...yep, blending.
The rbob-ethanol spread did not matter when ethanol was a premium to gasoline and does not matter now that ethanol is a discount to gasoline.
RBOB-ethanol might matter a touch with incremental higher level blending demand, but the weaker RIN market has just as much effect in opposite direction. Unfortunately, we are talking about 2 points to the right of the decimal point at this point in time for that demand base.
Ethanol = OCTANE. Not RBOB...rinse. repeat. | |
