I dont' have any input as far as your lines go, but the fella laughing would of rubbed me wrong pretty good. 50+ years old but there are still a lot out there being used. Maybe check with a different dealer and see what they say if that's even an option.

I walked into the JD dealer to ask about my 7100 planter and some parts. He simply couldn't help me with anything because he said nobody uses those old planters around here anymore. He only knew one farmer in the area that used finger pickups for corn and told me to track him down and ask him. Wow

My thinking is Deere still has parts for that planter but just because your the only one in that trade area is no reason for his answer-talk to the store manager -He needs an attitude adjustment.
