Older jacks are rebuildable, like anything else. A lot of the newer stuff is china made and are throw away. We had a 20 yr. old jack that we pushed to the back room and bought a new one. Last yr. when that new one broke (only 5 yrs old) checked on a new jack and we pulled out the old jack and had it fixed. (like it better than the newer one we had)
