Subject: RE:Which has more drought tolerance, corn or beans?

All depends on timing, 1234.  In 2003, we had a couple showers right after pollination.  Some corn did amazingly well, but it NEVER rained in August, that was Iowa's initiation to soybean aphids, and soybeans were horrible.  Fast forward to 2005, corn under major stress at pollination, but the hurricane pushed rains up here at state fair time- phenomenal soybean yields with a very mediocre corn crop.
