Mather, Manitoba | That's how most do it in my area. Seed, chemical and fertilizer, all you need is a signature. Good luck getting a deal on them if you need them to carry you. That gets most people an extra $200/ acre freed up to go nuts on equipment. The elevators know this and also bend you over hard on basis and dockage on any grain you try to haul out before December 31. Cash is king and I'm proud to be on that program. Quite ironic to have the big headed bto's on that program but still a slave to the input suppliers and elevators. Those guys are paying full rate on all inputs and if you miss the deadline by 1 hour, you get nailed an extra 18% on the spot on the total. That's why they carry them; they pay plenty for that service. | |
