NE Iowa | Tags show all the key info on each calf... Big number in middle bottom is their Tag/Tattoo number (like 601D). Lower left/right corners is their birthdate (like 1 - 26 = Jan 26th). Middle-left number is Mom's tag/tattoo (like 042X). Middle-right number is their birth weight (like 89). Top number is sire's tag/tattoo (like 145Y). It makes it really easy to know the key details on each calf immediately. If we're out in a pasture in summer looking at calves, we don't need our computer or calving book or anything to know all that info about each calf.
