Subject: Great Lakes ice coverage verses National Corn Yield

North Central Iowa, Humboldt County
I read an interesting article comparing the ice coverage of the Great Lakes and the national corn yield. The last 2 years the ice coverage was 92% and 89% and we had above trend line yields.

The ice coverage in 2012 the coverage was 12.9% and as of February 11th the coverage was 12.2%.

The chart attached shows a correlation that isn't perfect but it is a correlation.

Does this give you hope or is it just another pretty picture?
