Subject: Excitable calf problem

Cullom, Illinois
I have a 750 pound steer that got extremely sick two months ago. One of those, he's going to die deals. Well, he's still with us. Eats normal, gaining weight, overall looks fine. Only problem is, if you get him excited, he goes completely out of control. Falls down, slips, trips, bangs into everything. Any time you pressure him at all, he goes out of control. Almost seems like his equallibrium is off. Because of this, I don't think I'll ever get him on a truck. And I'm one of those guys that refuses to send junk to the sale barn. I'm trying to find a local freezer beef guy to give him too. I don't think he would do well in confinement with healthy calves. Has anyone ever run into this type problem? I'm wondering if he will get better with time. I can keep him in the vet pen and feed him seperate but it's a pain.
