| Anyone hear any trade outa the South? Nebraska was 210 and backed off to 209 late. Didn't hear anything out of south.
Basis in the north was terrible this week. -2 to -3. Bailed out of Feb Apr at 1.40 picking up a hard earned buck.20. Not sure what happens but if cash trade was not very good in south, Market could and should give back some of the gains from this past week. At least more do in the front end. Really thought we would start to see a cash rally with all the weather by now. And it hasn't happened and now weather is clearing up for at least a week.
Edit add: just told 134 bid but no trade in south.
This past week was the closest the cash trade has been to cutouts in a while, which means packers losing leverage over cattle feeder which creates smaller margins on their part and maybe lead to stronger cash yet? Not totally sure.
Looking for others thoughts. I feel kinda lost and am just talking through some thoughts. Find it better to put them in writing and have someone blast them then to just think I'm right. Blast away!
Cattle on feed. We have same amount as last year at this time! Kinda nothing report.
