Aberdeen MS | I don't have experience with auto steer on contours, but I think if you could key the planter with the auto steer rather than the tractor, it would work relatively well. Other with more experience might be able to chime in. Or it would be one question I would be asking every precision guidance mfg at the FPS.
I know in my experience following a strip with a pull type planter, it takes quite a bit to get the planter out of the strip.
I've since switched to mounted planter, it comes out easier and is more difficult get back into the strip than the pull type did.
