East Central South Dakota | People are worried whether or not the word "mandate" belongs (in theory) in a capitalistic economy within a democracy. Why worry about the theory and ideology of a word, when faced with the prospect of your total supply and demand chain vertically integrating into 3-4 companies----maybe less when we get done with this round of consolidation-----that's a worry. Government shouldn't dictate winners or losers, but it has a function/responsibility to be a referee to make sure there is actually a game to be played. If there are no opponents to show up, doesn't make for much of a game to be played and the outcome is pretty absolute. Certainly blurs the line between "state owned" and "corporate owned"----as neither has an opponent to play..... |
